What are traffic resolutions?
Traffic resolutions are formal Council decisions about how roads, parking, and traffic are managed in specific locations across the district.
These rules cover things like:
- Paid parking areas
- Bus stops
- One-way streets
- Speed limits or weight restrictions on certain roads and bridges
- Other traffic or road use restrictions
Most of these rules reflect what’s already in place under the current bylaw, so no significant changes are being proposed. We're simply formalising the existing arrangements.
What happens next?
Once this second round of feedback is complete and the Council has decided on the final resolutions:
- They will become part of the Council’s official records
- Signs and road markings will show the rules on-site
- The information will be published online
- The rules can then be enforced
What do I need to look at?
The proposed traffic resolutions are grouped into these sections:
Bylaw Rules Section: Parking restrictions
Bylaw Rules Section: Vehicle and road use restrictions
Bylaw Rules Section: Weight, speed and load restrictions (bridges and culverts)
Each proposed resolution includes the location and a reference number.
